News & Tips

Since starting my business in 2002, I have been happily sharing tips and helpful resources with my radio audience and with the greater community. While I know that everybody's journey is unique, I believe God must be the One who directs our path. I invite you to check out some of the stories and resources below and contact me if you want to learn more.

A Perspective to Make You More Productive

Finding time in our daily lives to plan, focus, and get it all done can be challenging. Our to-do lists seem to grow at an exponential pace, while our days streak by.  Taking care of children, grand-children, elderly parents, pets and a house, is a full-time job. Many of us are also working from home these days, which can add more stress to our jam-packed days.  We can become easily overwhelmed living in a state of ordered chaos.  How do we manage our time? How do we take care of well, everything? Is balance possible? Do we know how prioritize before  burn-out sets in? What do we do with all our good intentions - the best laid plans? Are we willing to chuck them out the window, and give up trying to control every minute of our day?

The simple answer should be yes! As we choose to let go and give it all up to God by changing our perspective, we can become even more productive.  I like to call it gaining a"Fresh Response." Ask yourself what it is you are trying to control in this moment. Once you identify what it is, challenge yourself with understanding your true motivations. Are those old viewpoints and rigorous mentalities you're clinging to causing you more work and trouble?  Truly, what is the worst thing that can happen if you don't get it all done today?   If we are courageous enough to trust God and let go of our pre-conceived plans and stagnate opinions, as it pertains to wants vs. needs, we may just find ourselves in a lighter place of acceptance and joy! Imagine that, being joyful and being productive.  Do you remember the Serenity prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can,  and wisdom to know the difference. Today, take your to do list to God, and prayerfully hand your will over to Him. God is the One who knows exactly what you really need to accomplish today and what you can leave for tomorrow.

Restored Health and Happiness

Restoration is a word that we think of when we are in the process of fixing something, be it an old house, a frayed piece of furniture or even a car. Seldom do we make time for the health and restoration of our soul. Restoring something, bringing it back to life and making it "like-new" again takes patience and loving care. Let me ask you this: when was the last time you thought about your own soul make-over? Do you feel tired, dingy, worn-out  and in need of a little tender loving care? If so, you are not alone. Just like that old dusty antique piece of furniture you have in the basement, you, too, have the ability to be made anew! Step 1: Remove the negative thinking and false expectations you've piled on yourself over the years. What real good has it done you anyway? Step 2: Envision yourself wholly restored despite your current circumstance. Step 3: Surrender your life to follow the will of God on a daily basis. His plans are always better than yours. Step 4:Turn away from your bad habits and sinful attitudes and behaviors. You know what gets your goat, slows you down, and keeps you stuck. Step 5:Open your heart to the Holy Spirit and His movement in your days. God's Spirit living in you is a very real and tangible thing. Step 6: Rise to the challenge...enough said! Step 7: Enjoy the process. I know that sounds like a tall order, but soon little decisions will lead to big changes. Step 8: Do. When you follow these steps throughout the natural flow of your day, you will see the restoration process is underway. Sure it takes a lot of patience, self- reflection, and work to go from dingy to brilliant; but, I hope you're up to the challenge. God will make it totally worth it!

Much love and peace,

Wandering Traveler

Step by Step

I sometimes wish we could press a magic button that could transport us from where we are right now in life to where we want to be; immediately and with very little effort - life would be so much easier. Most of us desire instant results without the pain and aggregation of moving from point A to point C. That mid-way B point can be a real kick in the butt, causing us to be uncomfortable, agitated, and stuck in our path. After all, who wants to admit change is necessary? As crazy as it may sound, we can get used to living in disappointment, denial, and despondency. These feelings can become so familiar, we have a hard time letting other good feelings in.  These feelings turn into unproductive thoughts, and our bad thoughts effect our behaviors. As this vicious cycle continues, we can become blinded by complacency.

The comical thing is that we have no problem in helping others see the light.  In fact, we often pride ourselves by being their biggest cheerleaders as they strive to attain their hopes and dreams. But, when it comes to moving ourselves forward or making a change for the better, we hesitate. We find ourselves caught in a web of confusion - knowing we need to make a change but not sure where to start. Or worse, we become paralyzed by fear and dig our heels in even deeper until change seems futile; we begin to wonder why we even allowed such a unattainable idea to come into our head in the first place.

But, living in survival mode doesn't have to be the only way. We can lead victorious lives, but our life must be led by Christ leading the way. In the 29th book of the prophet Jeremiah, we can see that God speaks not only to the exiles in Babylon, but to our hearts today. "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you-oracle of the Lord-plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope. When you call me, and come and pray to me , I will listen to you." (vs:11-12)

So today, if you hear his voice, harden not your heart.  Always remember His will and His plans for you will always be better than yours. He knows the way in which you should go. If you pray and ask, God will send you His Holy Spirit, and will show you the next steps to take. But, remember, you have to listen intently, obey his commands, and hang on tightly. Throughout this journey of change, you may be tempted to give up, or choose the easy way out. It is my prayer for you, that you will lean on Him, accept His grace to be courageous and continue to follow Him - no matter where He leads. As you take one small step in God's direction today, be assured that He will grant you the peace you have been searching for.  The road may be slow and bumpy and even uncomfortable, but you can be sure that and you are exactly where you are supposed to be- directly in the center of His divine will. So don't fret about taking the first step- Your Heavenly Father will be holding your hand and leading you every step of the way.

Peace,

Wendy
