When we desire to draw more deeply into the heart of God and freely surrender ourselves each moment to His Holy will, the Holy Spirit begins the beautiful work of transformation within us. This journey of metanoia- a continual conversion of heart, mind, and soul - is made stronger through a faithful life of prayer, ascesis, and the grace of the sacraments.  It is sacred work, and unfolds through a faithful prayer life, the grace of the sacraments, attentively listening and meditating on the Sacred Scriptures, and communion with Christ and His Church. We are not meant to go it alone. As we remain in Him, grow in humility and learn to cooperate with His divine grace, God gently heals what has been wounded, restores what has been broken, and conforms our hearts ever more closely to His. "Remain in me, as I in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. "  I am the vine, you are the branches . Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing." John 15:4-5

True and lasting change is never the fruit of our own effort, but of abiding in Christ with hearts that are receptive, surrendered and trusting. As we faithfully respond to His invitation with our "yes", we can be assured that He is leading us one faithful step at a time.
